An un-expected kiss from an Angelic Bee-ing

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I had a very strange experience today that has been making me smile ever since it happened.

I came home from work and found in our dining room a monster . . . of a bumble bee! This creature, the size of a small Elephant (exaggeration), was hitting itself against our window pane trying to get out, making the sound of a pneumatic drill as it vibrated its little wings and body against the glass, obviously in a panic.

I thought – “I know, I will run and get a glass and something to cover it with, to capture the Bee”, but I stopped and reasoned “why should I be scared of this creature. If it stings me it will die and if I am not a threat to it then why should it attack” (A wasp would of been a different matter maybe)

With this conclusion in mind, I held my hand against the glass of this window and surprisingly, straight away the Bee flew on to my hand. Carrying it gently and trying not to get to aggitated by the Bee’s adventure up my forearm, I took it to the nearest window and held my arm out.

His engines roared, the laws of gravity stopped working and off it went towards the garden, but then something happened then that really shocked me. It turned, came back in front of me to about 2 feet from my face and did only what can be described as a high speed dancing display. Turning circles and loops and figure eights, buzzing manically. Then with slow aimed precision it came right towards my face and planted itself on my cheek. At that moment I felt as though I was being kissed by an Angel, it was such a amazing feeling of energy that it brings tears to my eyes when I recall it. After this brief connection, it flew off my face, into the garden and away out of sight, but not out of mind.

WOW!
