Side Effects

There have been no reported cases of negative effects from Reiki. Sometimes a Reiki client experiences what practitioners call a cleansing crisis. The person may have symptoms such as a feeling of floating, weakness or tiredness, a headache, or a stomach ache. I believe that these are effects of the body releasing toxins. I advise the client on how to deal with such symptoms if they occur, such as by getting more rest, drinking plenty of water, or eating a lighter diet. People with a great deal of accumulated stress or emotional blocks can feel everything coming up emotionally at first with treatments, as their body and mind starts to process the effects of the Reiki.
